Monica L. Dolezal

Monica has owned her own business, BIZSTARTS, LLC, since 2004. She helps people start and grow businesses, including, but not limited to, business planning to goal setting to problem solving. She retired from the banking industry after working in it from 1974-2004, mostly in the small business commercial lending world, including SBA loans, (but had started as a teller, to operations, to management, to marketing.) She has a teaching degree from ISU and has used it to teach classes in the American Institute of Banking in her earlier banking years to teaching a class for the SBA for emerging and growing companies for 5 years called E200 from 2008-2012. And she is also a certified NxLevel (used by SBDC's) instructor. She teaches a Small Business Startup class in the Entrepreneurship Program at DMACC in Ankeny (since 2004-2005 year,) and has taught Small Business Management and Small Business Marketing in the past. Monica is an active member of NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) and was awarded the Woman Business Owner of the Year in Central Iowa in 2013. This past year she was a member of the Membership Committee. This group has just announced that they are growing from NAWBO-CI to NAWBOIowa.
